from book launch
to standing ovation
Client: Brown Books Publishing // Documentary & Unscripted
the challenge
The project faced a common documentary challenge: the final narrative needed to be discovered and built from the ground up in post-production. The task was to:
Find and construct a cohesive story from hours of raw, unscripted footage.
Build the film without a pre-existing script.
Meet the publisher's firm deadline for their international book launch.
the solution
As the Post-Production Lead, my intimate knowledge of the footage as the project's Cinematographer was essential to the process:
I built the narrative arc from scratch, analyzing every moment to find the emotional core and weave it into a compelling script.
I managed the complete post-production pipeline, executing the edit, color grade, and sound design to transform the raw material into a broadcast-quality film.
the outcome
The film was the highlight of their conference presentation. The client reported that it “moved the audience to tears" and was instrumental in making their book the most talked-about title at the event.
