from raw footage
to investor funding
Client: Blagg Family “Eye to Eye” Documentary // Narrative Development & Pitch Reels
the challenge
To get their documentary funded and made, the producers needed a compelling sizzle reel built from a challenging set of assets:
A lean collection of archival photos.
Hours of unedited, raw interview footage.
An urgent need to secure significant investor funding to green-light the project.
the solution
I produced and edited a trailer designed to prove the project's viability and emotional impact to a financial audience. My process:
Find the Heart of the Story: I identified the core emotional anchor that would resonate most with investors.
Build the Narrative Arc: From there, I selected every soundbite and archival photo to build a powerful narrative.
Create a Cinematic Experience: I executed a full atmospheric sound design and professional color grade to deliver a sizzle reel that didn't just tell a story—it sold the vision and promise of the final film.
the result
The trailer became the centerpiece of the fundraising campaign, leading them to surpass their funding goal and secure $25,000 to complete the film.
